Design
Blackberry Torch 9850 comes with a weight of 4.8 ounces and only 0.5 inches in thickness. This smartphone is slim because it gives the impression of smooth lines and gentle curves. Torch 9850 is slimmer than the Storm, Storm 2, and also all of RIM's previous touchscreen phones.
The front of the Blackberry Torch 9850 are glosssy 3.7 inch screen surrounded by a black bezel. the bottom of the screen there is a button Send, Menu, Escape, and End/power buttons, then in the middle there is a small optical trackpad surrounded by chrome. The back of the Blackberry Torch 9850 which contained a single chrome strip around the edge of the phone lebut
A headphone jack with volume buttons and mute/play/pause button on the right side of 9850, is equipped with a button that can be used to launch an application of your choice. (By default, it is set to launch the camera application.) Button on the phone is quite thin, which makes the user quite concerned, but the rubber coating makes users easy to press. On the left side of the phone there is a microUSB port
Display and Touchscreen
Blackberry Torch 9850 has been using touch screen 3.7 inches with a resolution of 800 x 480, the screen will still be visible even in direct sunlight. If indoors users can see bright images with menu and application icons, and sharp text.
Capacative touchscreen is very responsive. For zooming in and out with two fingers on the photo quickly, and can highlight a simple text by pressing two fingers on top
Keyboard
Touch screen keyboard on the Blackberry Torch 9850 is not the best thing I've ever used by testers. Although the response was relatively quick, yet narrow enough for portrait mode, causing some errors. Unlike the storm and storm 2, Blackberry Torch 9850 does not have haptic feedback. Although the setting is also provided for keypad tones, but its pretty annoying beep. another drawback is the unavailability shortcut for numbers or special symbols on the keyboard.
Software and interface
Blackberry Torch 9850 has been using blackberry OS 7, which offers faster navigation applications and HTML web browser which has been enhanced. There is a large clock at the top of the home screen, then underneath there arep notice, choice of voice, voice search icon, display the preview email, missed calls, Jawal events and social networking status updates
Application menu that appears on the main page looks slick and inituitif, the application will appear on the screen with a finger on the screen menggesekan. To see more applications that can be done by shifting to the right and to the left.
Then for the optical trackpad is also able to work with a smooth and easy as on the other blackberry phones.
Application
Of all the applications pre-installed on the Torch 9850, Wikitude is one of the coolest apps. Using additional reality to see what other BlackBerry users have to say about their favorite restaurant. Also this phone is also equipped with BlackBerry Protect application that provides the ability to backup, lock and wipe the phone remotely.
E-mail, Messaging, and fuel
At their core, the BlackBerry is known for messaging capabilities such as email, and BBM, and the Torch 9850 is no different. This smartphone supports 10 e-mail accounts as well as Google Talk, Windows Live, and Yahoo Messenger.
Fuel remains as the main application on the BlackBerry. Examiners immediately create a group and release the photos and video to other BBM users. testers also appreciate the deep integration of BBM on Facebook. After connecting our contact in BBM and Facebook, testers can see updates to our friends the latest by just clicking on a contact. Wikitude also allows us to examine what we BBM friends say using augmented reality.

Torch 9850 is powered by a 1.2-GHz Qualcomm 8655 Processor and 768MB RAM, the same as on the BlackBerry Bold 9900. Opening and switching between applications can run smoothly, mostly takes less than a second.
Web Browsing and Data 3G
BlackBerry Torch 9850 is not a 4G phone, and it showed in our tests. It took 6 minutes and 10 seconds to download and install Wikitude. Foursquare longer time, in 7 minutes 8 seconds.
For the most part, the zoom on a site looks fine, but at first glance seems far ketike gray box and white box.
Pressing twice on the screen to scale to the size of the page and the text display and work comfortably. The best part of the experience is the web browser navigation tab. After tapping the tab number in the upper right corner, we can add, delete, and scroll between tabs. Even with eight open browser windows, navigation is smooth.
Camera
Camera Torch 9850 is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera and flash. Camera capable of taking bright images, and sharp detail. Shooting in low light will produce images that are grainy, but it would look better if it switched to night setting. Torch 9850 is also equipped with a dedicated camera button.
Calls and battery life
Whether we are in the office or on the road, our caller reported clear call quality with just a little echo.
RIM claims that the Torch battery 1230 mAh lithium-ion battery can get up to 5.8 hours of talk time. In the test results do sufring web, stream music, watch videos and update multiple social networks, choose battery torch still 30 percent battery after use for 12 hours
